Local Start Dental is a brand new not-for-profit state-of-the-art and on-site denture fabrication clinic conveniently located in Durham, NC. We are completely focused on providing customized life-changing tooth replacement solutions in our “one stop shop,” saving you time and money.
We have developed a unique business model to provide best in class affordable denture solutions to our patients delivered by our compassionate, caring, trusted, surgically-trained, board-certified prosthodontists. Specific Services Offered at Local Start:
We provide treatment to both new denture wearers needing “immediate dentures” and those seeking replacement dentures and implants attached to dentures
To ensure exceptional fit and function, dentures are custom made onsite using digital technology and FDA-approved materials
3D CT Scans of your mouth and jawbone
Removal of an unhealthy tooth or teeth and precise placement of the implant(s)
A Certified Dental Technician is on staff to fabricate dentures and to provide adjustments
Because we have an onsite lab, we require fewer visits; therefore, basic dentures can often be delivered in as few as two visits
We also provide implants to support Removable Prostheses and Fixed “Permanent”
Follow-up denture adjustments, relines and implant maintenance are provided to patients of record

Medicaid and VA benefits are welcomed! (Other insurance is not accepted, though an insured patient may file claims themselves).

We also offer flexible 3rd Party Financing options through Care Credit and Proceed Financial.
*WE DO NOT PROVIDE THESE SERVICES (BUT WILL GLADLY REFER PATIENTS TO OTHER DENTISTS): Routine hygiene visits, fillings (unless they are combined with tooth replacement services), root canals, non-emergency single tooth extractions and impacted wisdom teeth.

For your consideration we’d like to highlight 2 of our most popular types of denture and implant solutions:
Implant Overdenture
This is a removable prosthesis stabilized by dental implants
Implants are placed in your jaw bone and allowed to heal. Then, an attachment is placed on the implants to allow the denture to snap in (like a snap button or a snap fastener)
With a minimum of 4 implants, your upper denture becomes a U-shaped (Horse-Shoe shape). The roof of mouth is not covered as in complete dentures, which most patients appreciate as it allows for better speech and taste
With a minimum of 2 implants in your lower denture, your unstable lower dentures become more retentive and more comfortable
Implant Supported Fixed Denture Hybrids
The prosthesis is screwed down into the healed implants
With a minimum of 4 implants for either your upper or lower denture, you will have a fixed prosthesis that will be the closest treatment option we have when you compare it to natural teeth
Dentures are fixed; this is the only option that allows you to sleep with the prostheses in place
The dentures are the least bulky, leaving more room in your mouth for your tongue
